Joy Vickery, ASID
Joy's creative flair and ingenuity brings fresh, innovative designs to Interior Solutions Group, Inc. projects. As an ISG designer, Joy oversees many projects from the programming phase through construction administration. She has managed the completion of various projects for General Communication Inc. (GCI), her most recent being a training facility. Joy took plain office space and combined bold colors, carpet patterns, contemporary lighting, interlocking furniture and a custom reception unit to create a professional and serene office environment. Other projects include Copper Valley Telephone, Alaska Railroad, and General Services Administration. Joy continues to work on large commercial projects for the public sector.
Joy, also a past partner of Alaska Business Interiors, brings 22 years of interior design experience to Interior Solutions Group, Inc. She is knowledgeable in AutoCad, coordinating the production of interior design documents, including drawings and specifications for commercial projects. Joy is responsible for programming, schematic design, design development, facilities management, and project management.
From 1986 to 1991, Joy was an Interior Designer for furniture dealerships in Alaska, California, and Texas, specializing in commercial installations. She worked with a team of in-house designers and architects for public and private-sector commercial clients.
Joy is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and an active member of Building Owners and Managers Associations (BOMA). When not in front of the computer, you will find her on the golf course, soccer field or out running her chocolate lab, Rock.
Melissa McMillan, Allied Member ASID
Melissa's enthusiasm for Interior Design brings many terrific talents to Interior Solutions Group, Inc. She has the ability to create innovative design solutions that reflect the client's personal taste and style. Melissa's professionalism and follow through on all aspects of design have set Interior Solutions Group apart from other design firms. Melissa has established a reputation for providing a pleasant and hassle-free experience as reflected by our repeat clients and their referrals.
Prior to Melissa joining Interior Solutions Group, she worked for a locally-owned interior design firm as an Interior Designer and space planner. She is knowledgeable in programming techniques and proficient in AutoCad documentation, as-built verifications, specifications, and installation drawings. Melissa has extensive knowledge of CAP furniture symbols library, and is trained in space planning Steelcase and Herman Miller systems furniture. She has successfully supervised huge furniture installations, yet remains the consummate budget-cruncher, which our clients especially appreciate.
On past projects Melissa has been responsible for conducting furniture and equipment inventory, providing construction documents for millwork design, reflected ceiling and electrical plans, and finish schedules. In addition, Melissa has managed the purchasing of several aspects of a design project. Melissa has recently completed projects for Information Technology Group, State of Alaska-Dept. of Natural Resources and Dept. of Commerce and Economic Development, Veco Equipment, Inc., and Koniag, Inc.
Melissa is an allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and an active member of Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA). Melissa is active in mountain biking, reading and golf. She's the next Tiger Woods.
